Do you or someone you know struggle with self-harm, have chronic suicidal thoughts, talk about their emotions being “out of control” or feel like they are “all over the place”?
Do you or someone you know sometimes acts impulsive, self-destructive or sometimes have co-occurring substance abuse issues?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a highly-structured cognitive behavioral treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP, which emphasizes individual psychotherapy and group skills training classes to help people learn and use adaptive coping strategies to develop a life that they experience as worth living. DBT skills include modules for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Counseling Services of Olympia has several DBT trained providers that can provide integrative DBT in individual therapy for teens and adults.
